Appearance and Description[]
The appearance and abilities of Demons vary, although there are a number of common traits which many of them share. Such traits may include horns, pointed ears, claws, tails and leathery wings.
There is a subspecies of Demon, known as the Etherious, which is comprised of Demons born from the Books of Zeref.
Demons and Etherious carry Demon particles within them; Mirajane Strauss also possess these particles, which she called the "Demon Factor" and explained that it was required for the use of her signature Magic; this Demon Factor is also used by members of Tartaros to turn humans into Demon hybrids, though the only known successful cases were Doriate, Minerva Orland, and her father.

Magic and Abilities[]
Demons have a number of Magic and abilities, though it varies from Demon to Demon. The subspecies known as Etherious generally make use of Curses rather than Magic.
Transformation Magic (変身魔法, Henshin Mahō): The Demons living on Galuna Island possess this Magic and use it to transform into humans.
Flight: Many winged Demons have been shown to possess the ability to fly with their wings.
